Yoga Sunday
The quest further the development of the core continues. I'm comfortable with the lunges and the moves where you collaspe (eg. bringing your knees to your chest). I'm getting better with downward dog. Just when I thought things were getting better, they were flipped on its head (literally).
We were practising handstands today. It was funny as all the walls in studio 2 had mirroirs so you could hear the resounding, "crack" as peoples feet landed against the glass during the attempt. My attempt wasn't as courageous as theirs. I still needed to develop my core further before being able to attempt one.
Starting about a foot from the wall in a forward bend position, I would, "walk" my legs up the glass. Once climbed as fas as I could reach, I extended one leg from the wall so it ended in the proper position for a handstand.
I could feel the immense pressure on my shoulers as the blood rushed to my head. As I continued to remain suspended in this inverted position, I could see my face becoming flushed.
Looks like I found something new to take my mind off of running for a bit.
